The United Arab Emirates’ National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has reported varying degrees of rainfall across several parts of the country. Heavy showers have affected numerous roads, leading to a call for caution among motorists throughout the Emirates.
In response to the inclement weather, the Abu Dhabi Police issued an urgent advisory, urging drivers to reduce their speed when navigating rainy conditions. As a precaution, siren alerts were dispatched to residents’ mobile phones. Additionally, several roads in the capital have activated speed-reduction systems, lowering the speed limit to 80 km/h.

For any emergencies related to fluctuating weather conditions, such as falling trees, water accumulation, or tilting lighting poles, residents are encouraged to contact the Abu Dhabi City Municipality at 993.
The Meteorological Department has reported heavy rains and thunderstorms, often accompanied by lightning. Community members are advised to remain vigilant and alert due to the unstable weather conditions. Residents are strongly encouraged to avoid unnecessary travel, exercise caution on the road, and activate low-beam headlights in situations with reduced visibility.
The forecast indicates heavy rain, accompanied by hailstones, in the mountainous areas of the eastern and central regions of Sharjah. These conditions may also impact the coastal areas of the Arabian Gulf and regions such as Abu Dhabi, Al Dhafra, Al Ain, and the eastern coast.
According to the NCM, unstable weather conditions are expected to persist in the UAE, with transitions from partly cloudy to cloudy conditions in various regions. Rainfall and thunderstorms can be expected, particularly in the presence of convective clouds.
A drop in temperatures is anticipated, with wind conditions fluctuating from moderate to strong gusts, especially when cloud cover stirs up, causing dust and sand to reduce horizontal visibility. At times, the sea may become moderate and rough, particularly in the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea, under cloudy conditions.
The NCM advises residents to stay updated on weather forecasts and exercise caution during this period of unstable weather, ensuring the safety of themselves and others on the road.
