Dubai Airports has issued an advisory to passengers arriving and departing from the city’s airports, urging them to use the Metro system due to the heavy rain and traffic congestion on the roads. The police shared the alert on social media in response to heavy rains, lightning, and thunder that struck Dubai.
In another alert, the police recommended that motorists heading to Airport Road explore alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion. The police stressed that Airport Road should be prioritized for travelers arriving at Dubai Airports.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) reported heavy rains and thunder in the vicinity of Dubai and Sharjah airports. However, as of 5:30 PM on Thursday, no flight delays were reported.
The Storm Centre, a social media weather monitoring account, shared a video capturing lightning striking the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building.

Additionally, the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) warned of delays on Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Road at the entrance to Sharjah due to rainwater accumulation. Motorists were advised to consider alternative routes such as Al Khail Road, Emirates Road, and Sheikh Zayed Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street.
The advisories come as part of efforts to ensure the safety and convenience of travelers and residents during adverse weather conditions in the region.
