Terminal A: Triple the Size, 28 Airlines, 117 Worldwide Destinations

In a significant development for the aviation industry and travelers, one of the world’s largest airport terminals, Terminal A at Abu Dhabi International Airport, is ready to commence operations on November 1, ushering in a new era of travel convenience and accessibility. Boasting three times the size of the previous terminal, Terminal A is set to facilitate the operations of 28 airlines, offering flights to a network of 117 destinations worldwide.
Abu Dhabi Airports has confirmed that all essential services and facilities are fully prepared to welcome the inaugural passengers to Terminal A. The transition to the new terminal will be implemented over a two-week period to ensure a smooth and seamless shift.
Key Information for Travelers During the Transition Period (November 1-14):
- Terminal Operations: During the initial transition period from November 1 to November 14, all terminals at Abu Dhabi International Airport, including Terminals A, 1, 2, and 3, will operate simultaneously.
- Check Latest Information: Travelers flying to or from Abu Dhabi between these dates are advised to check the latest flight information on the Abu Dhabi International Airport website or with their respective airlines to confirm the terminal for their specific flights.

Airlines Operating from Terminal A:
- November 1: Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, along with 15 other international airlines, will commence operations from Terminal A.
- November 9: Etihad Airways, the flagship carrier of the UAE, will begin operating 16 daily flights from Terminal A.
- November 14: By this date, all 28 airlines, including Etihad Airways and Air Arabia Abu Dhabi, will be fully operational from Terminal A.
Getting to the New Terminal:
From Abu Dhabi: Travelers departing from the city center can access the new terminal via two main routes. For those on the E10 highway, follow signs with airplane icons and then look for signs pointing to Passenger Terminal A. Alternatively, from 30th Street, Khaleej Al Arabi Street merges with the E20 highway. Continue along the E20 highway following the airplane icons, via Al Rawafid Street and Al Diyafah Street, until you reach the clearly marked signs for Passenger Terminal A.
From Al Ain: Travelers coming from Al Ain should drive on the E22 highway (Abu Dhabi-Al Ain Road) for approximately 140 kilometers, then join the E10 highway heading north (toward Dubai). Follow signs with airplane icons and those pointing to Passenger Terminal A until you reach the new terminal.

From Dubai: Travelers departing from Dubai can take the Sheikh Zayed Road for approximately 80 kilometers toward Abu Dhabi. The road then becomes the E10 highway, continuing toward Abu Dhabi city. After the signs for Yas and Saadiyat Islands, follow the exit to Abu Dhabi International Airport Terminal A, and then continue following the clearly marked signposts until you reach the terminal.
