UAE Braces for Hazardous Weather as NCM Issues Alerts for Continuing Rains

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued yellow and orange alerts across the country, warning of ongoing rains and the likelihood of “hazardous weather events.” The public is urged to adhere to authorities’ guidelines to stay safe.

As residents navigate the inclement weather, caution is paramount, especially for those venturing outdoors and driving. The Abu Dhabi Police have also issued a warning to motorists, emphasizing the importance of vigilance and the need to pay attention to changing speed limits displayed on electronic signs along the roads.

In addition to the rains, light to moderate winds are expected to sweep across the region, leading to blowing dust and sand. Temperatures are forecasted to range between 25°C and 32°C in cities like Abu Dhabi and Dubai, both of which are slated to experience heavy rainfall today.

Maritime conditions are also subject to change, with the sea oscillating between moderate and rough, particularly when clouds loom over the Arabian Gulf. In the Oman Sea, conditions will range from slight to moderate, turning rough in conjunction with cloud cover.
