In its directive, the ministry emphasized the importance of companies taking necessary measures to ensure that essential outdoor work aligns with occupational health and safety requirements. Additionally, companies are urged to prioritize the health and safety of workers commuting to and from outdoor work locations during adverse weather conditions.

As a precautionary measure, the Ministry’s advisory comes in light of the expected continuation of lightning, thunder, and varying intensities of rain over the east, north, and coastal areas of the country in the coming days.

In Ras Al Khaimah, where heavy rains have battered the emirate, government schools announced the shift to remote classes on the specified day. The emirate’s crisis management teams are also on high alert to address any potential challenges arising from the inclement weather.

This advisory aligns with the ministry’s proactive approach to employee welfare during adverse weather conditions. Approximately three weeks ago, during a 28-day spell of rain, the Mohre had similarly encouraged private companies to adopt flexible work patterns for a day. The ongoing commitment to flexibility and employee well-being reflects the UAE’s dedication to ensuring a safe and supportive work environment for all residents.
