In celebration of Union Day, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has declared free public parking from December 2 to December 4, 2023. However, this exemption excludes multi-level terminals, and regular parking tariffs will be reinstated from December 5.
During the holiday period, some service adjustments will be in effect:
Service Provider Centres (Vehicle Testing):
- Closed during the holiday.
- Vehicle technical inspection services will resume on Monday, December 4, only in select centres: Tasjeel Al Twar, AutoPro Satwa, AutoPro Al Mankhool, Tasjeel Al Awir, and Al Yalayis.
- All centres will resume regular transactions from Tuesday, December 5.
Customer Happiness Centres:
- Closed during the holiday.
- Smart Customer Happiness Centres in Umm Ramool, Deira, Al Barsha, Al Kifaf, and RTA’s Head Office will operate around the clock.
Dubai Metro:
- From November 30 to December 12, the red and green lines will operate from 5 am to 1 am (next day).
Dubai Tram:
- From November 30 to December 12, the Tram will run from Monday to Saturday, 6 am to 1 am the next day, and on Sundays from 9 am to 1 am (next day).
Public Buses:
- From December 1 to December 3, certain bus routes will be redirected on Sheikh Zayed Road towards Abu Dhabi. Affected routes include 10, 15, 21, 7, 8, 83, 91, E101, 98E, 96, 95A, 95, 91A, X94, X92, E102, with expected delays and some cancellations during road diversions.
- Regular services on all other routes will follow the usual schedule.
The RTA advises residents to plan their journeys accordingly, taking into account the adjusted service hours and parking regulations during the Union Day holiday.
