Dubai Mall to Introduce Paid Parking System in Collaboration with Salik

Dubai – Emaar Malls, in collaboration with Salik, the toll gate operator, has announced plans to implement a paid parking system at the iconic Dubai Mall. The partnership aims to create a seamless and efficient parking management system for visitors, utilizing Salik’s technology to enable a barrier-free experience.

Scheduled for operation in the third quarter of 2024, the new system will transition Dubai Mall’s parking into a paid service. Salik’s vehicle plate recognition technology will facilitate automatic fee collection, providing a ticketless and convenient experience for mall customers. The charges for parking are yet to be determined and will be finalized by Emaar Malls as part of the project’s business rules.

Ibrahim Sultan Al Haddad, CEO and board member of Salik Company PJSC, highlighted the benefits of the initiative, stating, “Salik is ideally placed to provide this seamless and convenient customer journey, with the solution eliminating the need for gates or barriers at Dubai Mall, helping to minimize congestion and traffic for the customers.”

The move reflects an effort to streamline the parking experience at one of the world’s most famous shopping destinations. By incorporating Salik’s toll collection expertise, the initiative aims to enhance efficiency and reduce congestion in the parking areas.

Salik, established in 2007, is Dubai’s automatic road toll collection system, designed for a free-flowing and uninterrupted driving experience on the city’s highways. Currently operating eight toll gates, primarily on Sheikh Zayed Road, Salik has become synonymous with convenient and automated toll payment in Dubai.

Emaar Malls and Salik anticipate the successful implementation of the parking management system at Dubai Mall, with plans to explore similar offerings in other locations across the city in the future. The collaboration aligns with Dubai’s commitment to leveraging technology for enhanced urban mobility and customer service.
