Comprehensive Security Plan Unveiled for Dubai’s New Year’s Eve Celebrations

Authorities in Dubai have introduced an extensive security plan for the upcoming New Year’s Eve celebrations, set to take place across 32 locations. The city has been divided into four sectors – North, Central, West, and the Maritime sector – to efficiently manage the festivities.

The Events Security Committee, consisting of 55 government and private entities, revealed that fireworks displays would be held at popular locations such as Burj Khalifa, The Beach, Bluewaters (JBR), Palm Jumeirah, Kite Beach, Hatta, Global Village, Al Seef, Festival City, and more. To enhance safety, several viewing screens will be set up in coordination with the Permanent Committee for Labour Affairs, providing workers with the opportunity to enjoy the celebrations.

Major General Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi, chairman of the Events Security Committee, emphasized the collaboration of all entities to ensure maximum security and safety for attendees. He urged the public to cooperate with the police, adhere to traffic instructions, and report emergencies promptly.

Approximately 12,000 personnel, including police officers, patrols, civil defense, and ambulance teams, will be deployed to manage the celebrations. Road closures will commence around 4 pm, with Sheikh Zayed Road closing from 9 pm. Dubai Metro will operate for 40 hours during New Year’s Eve, and 230 buses will be deployed to facilitate travel.

Dubai Municipality plans to deploy 2,700 executive and field teams across celebration sites, focusing on maintaining cleanliness and overseeing festivities. Health and safety teams, food safety teams, and sanitation workers will work collaboratively to ensure compliance with standards. Additionally, Dubai Civil Defence will deploy over 947 firefighters, and the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services will station 178 ambulances, 556 paramedics, and 35 supervisors across various locations.

The comprehensive security plan aims to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for residents and visitors during the New Year’s Eve celebrations in Dubai.
