Dubai’s Hor Al Anz community playground, a cherished gathering spot for residents of all ages and backgrounds, has undergone a stunning transformation thanks to a collaborative effort between Dubai Municipality (DM) and Deliveroo, a local delivery company.
The revitalization project aimed to enhance the recreational experience for residents, with a focus on the basketball court and cricket pitch. Both spaces were adorned with vibrant colors and the distinctive Deliveroo mascot, adding a playful touch to the community hub. Words like “dribble,” “shoot,” “slam dunk,” and “strike” now adorn the surfaces, inviting players to engage in spirited games and activities.

Ahmed Ibrahim AlZarouni, Director of Public Parks and Recreational Facilities Department at DM, emphasized the significance of the Hor Al Anz Community Playground as one of Dubai’s oldest communal spaces. He highlighted the collaborative effort with Deliveroo as a testament to their shared commitment to fostering well-being and happiness within the community.
The inauguration of the revamped spaces was marked by a friendly cricket match, bringing together delivery riders and community members in a spirit of camaraderie and shared enjoyment.
Taghrid Oraibi, Head of Communications at Deliveroo Middle East, underscored the project’s aim to create vibrant hubs where residents can connect, engage, and contribute to collective experiences, reflecting Dubai’s dynamic spirit and cultural diversity.
