Dubai Customs Foils Attempt to Smuggle Peculiar Items Linked to Sorcery

In a bizarre incident at Dubai International Airport (DXB), customs officials intercepted a traveller attempting to smuggle a collection of peculiar objects believed to be associated with sorcery. The discovery, which included a live snake, a monkey’s hand, a dead bird, and eggs wrapped in cotton, raised suspicions among inspectors during a routine luggage check.

According to reports from Arabic daily Emarat Al Youm, the items were concealed inside a plastic box within the traveller’s luggage. Upon further inspection, authorities also discovered spells, talismans, and various tools containing paper clippings, all suspected to be intended for use in sorcery activities.

Following the confiscation, the items were promptly handed over to the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities in Dubai for further examination and investigation.

Khaled Ahmed, senior manager of Terminal 1 at the Passenger Operations Department, emphasized Dubai Customs’ unwavering commitment to combatting smuggling in all its forms. He underscored the team’s dedication to maintaining vigilance and safeguarding the community from potential harm posed by illicit activities.

The incident highlights the ongoing efforts of Dubai Customs to uphold security measures and ensure compliance with regulations at the bustling airport, reinforcing the authorities’ resolve to protect the integrity and well-being of residents and visitors alike.
