In her tribute, Dickson recalled their collaboration in the Willy Russell production “John Paul George Ringo and Bert” from 1974-1975, praising Hill as a “marvellous actor” and expressing her privilege in having crossed paths with him.
Hill, a native of Manchester, England, first rose to prominence with his compelling portrayal of Yosser Hughes in the acclaimed BBC TV drama “Boys from the Blackstuff”. His portrayal of Hughes, a proud yet despondent figure grappling with unemployment in Liverpool during the early 1980s, garnered widespread acclaim, showcasing his exceptional talent as an actor.
