Los Angeles – November 7, 2024: Netflix is ramping up its 2024 slate with ambitious new projects, hoping to maintain its stronghold in streaming. At a press event in Los Angeles, Netflix introduced its content highlights for the coming year, spotlighting 3 Body Problem, an eagerly anticipated sci-fi series from Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. Adapted from the Chinese novel trilogy of the same name, 3 Body Problem delves into a world where humanity encounters an alien civilization and is described as “part thriller, part sci-fi” by Netflix’s Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria. The series, partly set in London, stars Benedict Wong as a British inspector probing a bizarre suicide.

The lineup also includes the much-awaited return of Squid Game, which continues the journey of protagonist Gi-hun. With a suspenseful plot twist, Gi-hun abandons his plans to go to the U.S. and embarks on a new, mysterious mission. The first season of Squid Game holds the title as Netflix’s most-watched show to date.

Netflix’s 2024 international productions include a Spanish-language adaptation of Gabriel Garcia Marquez’s One Hundred Years of Solitude, crafted in Colombia, and a Brazilian series chronicling the life of Formula One legend Ayrton Senna. Hollywood’s Eddie Murphy also returns to the big screen this summer in a new Beverly Hills Cop sequel.

With its bold global lineup, Netflix hopes to attract diverse audiences and continue to set the pace in the competitive streaming landscape.
