Netflix unveiled a high-profile 2024 lineup, spotlighting the ambitious new sci-fi series 3 Body Problem from Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. Set to premiere on March 21, 3 Body Problem is adapted from Liu Cixin’s bestselling Chinese trilogy, blending thriller and sci-fi elements as humanity confronts an alien civilization. Featuring scenes set in modern-day London, the series stars Benedict Wong as a British inspector investigating a bizarre suicide. Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria described it as a “huge, cinematic bet” during the show’s introduction in Los Angeles.
The lineup also teases the return of Squid Game, Netflix’s record-breaking Korean thriller, which will follow protagonist Gi-hun as he pursues a mysterious new quest. International content includes a Colombian adaptation of Gabriel Garcia Marquez’s One Hundred Years of Solitude and a Brazilian series on racing icon Ayrton Senna.
On the film side, Eddie Murphy is set to reprise his role in a Beverly Hills Cop sequel. Netflix’s diverse and ambitious 2024 slate reflects its continued focus on global storytelling to maintain its streaming dominance.
