Users Report Overheating, Data Transfer Issues, and Titanium Frame Color Changes
In a highly anticipated launch, Apple introduced its latest offering, the iPhone 15, on September 12, with eager customers worldwide getting their hands on the new model on September 22. The release sparked an unprecedented wave of excitement, but it hasn’t been without its share of challenges.
Overheating Concerns
One of the most pressing issues that iPhone 15 users have encountered is overheating, particularly with the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models. Numerous users have taken to Apple’s community forum to voice their complaints about their devices heating up, even during minimal usage.
One iPhone 15 owner expressed their concern, stating, “I’ve recently purchased the new iPhone 15 pro max and it is heating up even when I’m not using it. I was wondering if anyone else is having this issue or if it may be a setting that is causing it that I can turn off?”

Apple has yet to officially comment on this issue, but an Apple expert suggested that the overheating problems may be linked to design compromises made to achieve a lighter device, such as reducing the heat dissipation area and introducing a titanium frame. A potential solution to this issue could involve software updates; however, it might require reducing processor performance, impacting the product’s overall performance.
Data Transfer Glitches
Another concern raised by some loyal iPhone users pertains to difficulties transferring data from their old iPhones to the new iPhone 15. Although Apple swiftly released an iOS 17.0.2 software update in response, some users continued to experience data transfer issues.
To address these problems, Apple advised users to put the device into Device Firmware Update mode and restore it using a computer.
Titanium Frame Discoloration
The iPhone 15 introduces a new feature—a titanium frame. However, some users have reported that this frame is prone to changing color. In response to this issue, Apple stated in its support documents that the discoloration may result from fingerprints coming into contact with the metal.
Apple provided a remedy for this problem, suggesting that the original color can be restored by wiping the gadget with a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth.
While the iPhone 15 launch witnessed remarkable sales and generated significant excitement, these user-reported issues have highlighted the importance of rigorous testing and prompt customer support in addressing potential challenges with the latest technology. Apple’s reputation for quality and innovation will be put to the test as users await solutions to these reported problems.
Stay tuned for further updates on how Apple plans to address these concerns and provide a seamless experience for iPhone 15 users.
