Cooler Temperatures and Unpredictable Weather Expected in the UAE

UAE residents can anticipate a drop in temperatures over the next few days, accompanied by unpredictable weather conditions. The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) suggests a decrease of 2 to 4°C in Dubai, making the weather relatively cold until Friday. The expected daytime temperature is around 25°C, with nighttime temperatures dropping to approximately 17°C.

  1. Temperature Drop: Residents in Dubai will experience cooler temperatures, and there is a likelihood of a 2 to 4°C decrease until Friday. The weather is expected to be relatively cold, creating a change in the atmospheric conditions.
  2. Rainfall Possibility: Some areas in the Emirates may witness light rain, with Ras Al Khaimah expected to experience heavy showers. The NCM highlights the presence of medium to low cloud cover over both land and sea, contributing to the possibility of rain.

He mentioned the passage of a westward-moving low-pressure system over the UAE, leading to rainfall. The system is expected to progress from Abu Dhabi to Dubai, resulting in varying cloud cover and humidity levels.
  4. Impact on Different Regions: The Ras Al Khaimah region is likely to witness increased cloud cover, enhancing the probability of rainfall. The weather system is anticipated to gradually move eastward, affecting specific areas in Fujairah. By Friday morning, the system is expected to exit the country, accompanied by light morning rain.

  6. Transition to Winter: Dr. Habib highlighted the conclusion of the autumn season, with winter officially commencing around December 22-23. While the UAE experienced average temperatures, occasional temperature drops are anticipated until the onset of winter.
  7. Winter Season Characteristics: January is traditionally the coldest month in the UAE, with temperatures typically lower than December. The winter season brings cooler temperatures, and February continues to record colder temperatures compared to December.
