In a thrilling match at Euro 2024, Spain overcame an early setback to secure a convincing 4-1 victory against a resilient Georgia on Sunday, securing their spot in the tournament’s quarter-finals and ending Georgia’s remarkable run.

The three-time champions fell behind in the 18th minute when Robin Le Normand inadvertently turned Otar Kakabadze’s cross into his own net, giving Georgia an unexpected lead. However, Spain quickly regained composure and showcased their dominance throughout the match.

Spain’s response was swift as they equalized in the 39th minute when Nico Williams set up Rodri, who clinically fired a low shot into the corner of the net. The momentum shifted further in Spain’s favor early in the second half when Fabian Ruiz headed in Lamine Yamal’s precise cross, putting La Roja ahead 2-1.
