Dubai, UAE – November 15, 2024
In a significant step toward enhancing eco-friendly urban mobility, the Dubai Taxi Company (DTC) has announced the addition of 250 new license plates exclusively for electric vehicles within its taxi fleet. This expansion will boost the number of environmentally-friendly vehicles in DTC’s fleet to 87%, in line with the UAE’s Year of Sustainability initiative.
The addition of these vehicles raises DTC’s total taxi fleet to 6,210, with the broader fleet – including taxis, limousines, buses, and motorcycles – exceeding 9,000 vehicles. Mansoor Rahma Alfalasi, CEO of Dubai Taxi Company, highlighted the strategic importance of this move in a statement, emphasizing DTC’s commitment to sustainable and smart transportation solutions. “This acquisition brings our fleet more than 9,000 vehicles, supporting DTC’s position as a leading provider of comprehensive mobility solutions and contributing to revenue growth and profitability of the business,” he said.
The environmentally-focused expansion is expected to generate an estimated Dh85 million in additional annual revenue. According to Alfalasi, DTC is actively working to enhance its services both in Dubai and across the region through strengthened partnerships with key players in the sustainable transport industry.
As DTC aligns its operations with Dubai’s green initiatives, the company aims to position itself at the forefront of the UAE’s sustainable urban mobility landscape.
