McDonald’s Corporation has issued a statement addressing the disinformation and inaccurate reports about its position regarding the Middle East conflict, emphasizing that it is not funding or supporting any governments involved in the conflict. In a statement posted on Instagram in both Arabic and English, McDonald’s UAE clarified that actions taken by its local Developmental Licensee business partners were made independently and without McDonald’s consent or approval.

The statement expressed the company’s concern for the communities and families impacted by the crisis, and emphasized its stance against violence and hate speech, reaffirming its commitment to inclusivity. McDonald’s also mentioned its efforts to ensure the safety of its employees in the region while supporting the communities in which it operates.
McDonald’s UAE, which is locally owned and operated by Emirates Fast Food Company LLC, previously announced a donation of Dh1 million to Emirates Red Crescent for its ‘Tarahum for Gaza’ campaign in response to the ongoing crisis in the region.

The statement comes in response to concerns raised by Arab consumers about McDonald’s Israeli franchise allegedly providing meals to Israeli soldiers on the front lines, which was viewed by some as an insensitive corporate message given the circumstances in Gaza.
