Sharjah Police Seizes 11 Vehicles for Reckless Driving During Rain

In a crackdown on reckless driving, Sharjah Police seized 11 vehicles after drivers were found performing dangerous stunts during rainfall. The Traffic and Patrols Department at the Sharjah Police General Command took swift action against the offenders, emphasizing the grave risks posed by such behavior on the roads.

The vehicles were impounded following reports of drivers engaging in reckless maneuvers, jeopardizing their safety and that of other motorists. Additionally, 84 vehicles were flagged for violations related to congregating at the site where the stunts occurred, indicating a broader issue of irresponsible driving practices in the area.

Authorities have issued stern warnings against reckless driving, imposing hefty fines of Dh2,000 along with 23 black points for offenders. Moreover, vehicles involved in such incidents face a 60-day impoundment period as part of the stringent measures aimed at curbing dangerous driving behaviors.

The Sharjah Police reiterated its commitment to enforcing traffic laws and urged motorists to prioritize safety and compliance with regulations. Residents were urged to report any instances of reckless driving to the authorities, underscoring the collective responsibility in ensuring road safety.
