Emirates Cancels Moscow-Dubai Flight Due to Ground Vehicle Incident

Emirates airline was compelled to cancel its Moscow-Dubai flight on Wednesday following an incident involving a ground service vehicle at the Russian airport.

A spokesperson for the carrier confirmed that a ground service vehicle came into contact with the aircraft before the boarding process commenced. Consequently, all passengers were promptly rebooked on an alternative flight to minimize disruptions.

“Emirates flight EK134 has been cancelled due to a ground services vehicle making contact with the aircraft prior to passengers boarding. All affected passengers have been rebooked on a later Emirates flight,” stated the spokesperson, expressing regret for any inconvenience caused and reaffirming the airline’s unwavering commitment to passenger and crew safety.

Photographs depicting the reported damage to the Airbus A380 at Moscow Domodedovo Airport were shared by Flightradar24, highlighting the aftermath of the incident.

In a separate development, Emirates disclosed its activation of a fuel agreement with Neste at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, commencing this month. The agreement entails the supply of over 2 million gallons of blended Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) into the airport’s fuelling system throughout 2024.

Emirates will meticulously monitor the delivery of SAF into the fuelling systems and assess the associated environmental benefits using standard industry accounting methodologies. The partnership with Neste, announced in the latter part of the previous year, signifies one of the airline’s most substantial SAF procurement endeavors to date.
