Abu Dhabi Authorities to Impose Vehicle Ban on Major Streets from October 9 Abu Dhabi
UAE – The Abu Dhabi Police, in collaboration with the Integrated Transport Center, has announced the temporary ban on specific vehicles on major streets within the emirate starting October 9, 2023.

Buses with a passenger capacity of ’50 passengers and more’ will not be permitted to travel on Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Street, from Sheikh Zayed Bridge to Sheikh Zayed Tunnel (formerly Al-Qurram Street), during both morning and evening peak hours on Monday, October 9th, 2023. The ban is effective during morning peak hours from 6.30 am to 9 am and evening peak hours from 3 pm to 7 pm.

This measure aligns with the authorities’ concerted efforts to manage traffic flow efficiently and reduce accidents caused by large vehicles. The Abu Dhabi Police General Command has issued directives to drivers, urging them to adhere to the specified time restrictions and comply with traffic regulations.
Additionally, the authorities have announced their intention to enhance road surveillance and strengthen the enforcement of violations related to worker transport buses. Smart systems will be employed to monitor and apprehend any violations effectively.
