Lulu Group Expands Footprint with Largest In-Mall Hypermarket at Dubai Mall

Retail giant Lulu Group has further solidified its presence in Dubai with the opening of its largest in-mall hypermarket at the prestigious Dubai Mall. This strategic move reflects the company’s commitment to providing a diverse range of products and a world-class shopping experience to residents and visitors alike.

  • Lulu Group has inaugurated a new hypermarket at the Dubai Mall, covering a sprawling 72,000 square feet of retail space.
  • With this addition, Lulu Group now boasts a total of 24 stores in Dubai, emphasizing groceries, fresh produce, bakery items, health and beauty products, stationery, household essentials, IT gadgets, and fresh flowers.
  • Shoppers at the Dubai Mall Lulu hypermarket can also avail the convenience of self-checkout options, enhancing their shopping experience.
  • Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade, inaugurated the hypermarket in the presence of Yusuff Ali MA, Chairman of Lulu Group.

Lulu Group’s Expansive Growth:

  • Lulu Group has been on an expansion spree across the Gulf region, India, and other markets. It recently opened its 10th hypermarket in Bahrain and its 15th in Kuwait, in addition to announcing substantial investments in India.
  • The company is also focusing on enhancing its global sourcing operations by establishing new centers in Italy and Poland, with a special focus on healthy and dietary products.

Rising Retail Spending in the UAE:

  • Retail spending in the UAE has been on the upswing, with a significant 13% growth observed across various retail sectors in the past year. This growth includes leisure and entertainment (29%), fashion (25%), hypermarkets and supermarkets (11%), and general retail (9%).
  • The surge in international visitors to the UAE, more than doubling to 14 million in 2022, has been a driving force behind this increased retail activity.
