The UAE’s National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a forecast warning of heavy rainfall expected in several regions across the country, particularly in Northern, Eastern, and coastal areas on Monday. Residents in Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain, Ajman, Al Ain, and parts of Abu Dhabi are advised to brace for significant rainfall. Additionally, Jumeirah in Dubai may also experience some precipitation.

Today’s weather forecast indicates a range from partly cloudy to cloudy skies, with the likelihood of light to moderate rainfall and a noticeable drop in temperatures across the UAE. Overnight, humidity levels are expected to increase, potentially leading to fog formation in certain inland areas on Tuesday morning.

Winds are anticipated to be light to moderate, occasionally fresh, possibly carrying blowing dust along with the clouds. Sea conditions are forecasted to be rough in the Arabian Gulf and moderate to rough in the Oman Sea.

Sunday evening saw parts of the country experience rainfall, in line with predictions from the Met Department. Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, and Abu Dhabi were among the areas affected by the rains.

The prevailing weather conditions are attributed to a weak surface pressure system combined with the extension of an upper-level low-pressure system, resulting in cloudiness and precipitation.

In light of the expected rainfall and potential turbulence, Abu Dhabi Police have issued a safety advisory urging drivers to exercise caution and refrain from unnecessary travel. Motorists are reminded to adhere to speed limits and follow speed reduction rules, especially during adverse weather conditions.

Drivers are advised to maintain a safe distance from other vehicles, avoid sudden braking, and reduce speed when making turns to prevent vehicles from slipping. If visibility becomes compromised while driving, motorists are encouraged to pull over to the side of the road until conditions improve.

The NCM continues to monitor weather patterns and urges residents to stay informed about updates and heed safety recommendations during periods of inclement weather.
