Mumbai Police Arrest Man in Chhattisgarh for Death Threat Against Bollywood Star Shah Rukh Khan

Mumbai, India – Mumbai Police have apprehended a man from Chhattisgarh in connection with a recent death threat made against Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. The suspect, who allegedly called in a threat demanding a ransom of Rs 5 million, is currently undergoing questioning by police officials.

Last week, a call was received at Bandra police station threatening Shah Rukh Khan’s life. Following the threat, authorities promptly registered a case and dispatched a team to Raipur to locate the suspect. While details about the suspect remain undisclosed, this threat comes amid a spate of similar security issues faced by Bollywood stars.

Bollywood actor Salman Khan has also been targeted with threats linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which has become notorious for targeting high-profile figures. In a recent incident on October 24, Mumbai Police arrested a man in Jamshedpur who had threatened Salman Khan and demanded a ransom of Rs 50 million, again invoking the name of Lawrence Bishnoi. Salman Khan’s security was intensified following a shooting incident outside his Galaxy Apartments residence in Mumbai on April 14, allegedly orchestrated by Bishnoi’s brother, Anmol Vishnoi, who reportedly guided shooters and provided them with weapons and target details.

The series of threats and attacks escalated in October, with a fatal shooting involving Nationalist Congress Party leader Baba Siddique on October 12. Siddique, a former minister, was shot multiple times outside his son’s office in Bandra, succumbing to his injuries shortly after. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for the attack, further raising public concern over security risks to high-profile figures.

Both Shah Rukh and Salman have been under heightened security measures to mitigate these ongoing threats. Salman’s security has been raised to Y+ level, reflecting the growing concerns for their safety and the escalating presence of organized crime in Bollywood circles. Fans and authorities alike are on high alert, as the safety of India’s biggest stars faces unprecedented challenges.
